~Cool Story~

So...the stories I have heard are true. I can totally tell that the adversary is trying to prevent me from serving a mission. There have been big and small things that have happened over the course of that last few months.  However, I say that I will not let those things get me down.
Some examples of these happenings in the last week......
First, I was really really sick all week, there were some major time conflicts in my schedule that don't normally happen, and my car brakes went out on the day of my interview with the Stake President.
But there was a blessing that also came in the form of an opportunity to share the gospel.
A few nights ago during my prayers, I was prompted to do something the next day. I had an idea why my Heavenly Father would ask me to do what I did but I can testify that it was the spirit of the Lord giving me insight. I was excited but really nervous to do this task throughout the night and the next day.
But something got in the way...
During my day at school I got a call asking me to move my car because it was parked in a spot where if someone were to accidentally slip in the snow and ice, my back end would be toast! So I went to my car and tried to find my keys. They were gone! My heart dropped because I had been all over campus that day. I dumped out my backpack several times, retraced my steps all over campus several times, checked at all the front desks, police dept, called lost and found, emailed all the students and teachers in my class, dug around in the snow and everything else that I could think of! Even though it was just my keys I was really overwhelmed and upset. It took over my entire day and I almost had forgotten about my prompting the night before. But before it was too late I recognized what was happening. I knew that this was a daily distraction that the adversary was trying to use so that it would hinder my step by step preparation for my mission and constant dedication to the Gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
I was able to complete the task that the Lord gave me the night before. During that moment I felt the spirit and the presence of the Lord. I was grateful that I was able to take part in that experience. I knew that if I went through with the prompting I had received my keys would turn up somehow.
Sure enough... :] in an act to continually put forth effort to find my keys I figured that facebook was the last place I could post my issue haha. So I did. Within an hour one of my friends wrote a comment that said that she knew of the person that had my keys! This was a miracle because there was no identification on my keys! I was in awe that someone could find my keys and figure out that they were mine! One person out of ~20 thousand people on campus! I couldn't believe it!!!! :]
The girl that found my keys found them in the snow.  and What she had done was look through the documents on my jump drive that were on my set of keys to find any clue to who the owner was. She found my friend's name and contacted her through facebook. Because I posted on facebook that I had lost my keys I was able to get them back! :] Now tell me that's not a tender mercy!!! I am so thankful and blessed.

Papers are In!!!

I have been on the fence about a mission for a few years now and to be honest I didn't think that I would actually go through with it, but HERE I AM!
I had my interview with Stake President Rigby of the Pullman/Moscow stake and everything went really well. My favorite part of the interview was that during the opening prayer the President Rigby offered, it hit me like a ton of bricks that I am going on a mission! When I opened my eyes to start the interview I was already crying. But after I bore my testimony of Jesus Christ and went through the rest of my interview, he found me worthy to serve a mission.
My papers were sent on that day to Salt Lake. Now I will be waiting for my call to show up in the mail! I am SOOO excited. This Thursday will be the day that the quorum of the twelve apostles will review my paperwork and determine through prayer where I will serve. I hope that it will come during my spring break in a couple of weeks so that I can open it while I am at home with my family!
My family and I will be fasting on Thursday for my mission call so if you would like to join in on that you are welcome to do so.
My Testimony: I want you all to know that I know that Jesus Christ lives. I know through the atonement of Christ that we can repent and be forgiven through our sins. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true and that modern day Prophets lead and guide the church. I know that Joseph Smith was the boy that Heavenly Father saw fit at that time to use as a servant to restore the good news of the gospel to the earth for the final time. I love this gospel and I have a great desire to share it with others. This is my testimony in the name of my savior Jesus Christ Amen.

PS-this picture is the one that will appear on the screen as the quorum of the twelve review my call.
